Biodiversity Conservation Department 

The proposed functions of the Department of Wildlife and Biodiversity Conservation will be:

Coordinate and monitor policy implementation and give due recognition to operations of other sectors policiesPromotion of participation of stakeholders in conservation and sustainable utilization of fauna and flora resources, Promotion of information sharing and exchange of expertise nationally, regionally and internationally. Provide technical knowhow to stakeholders Establish and manage Puntland’s protected areas for the conservation of endangered fauna and flora species Document threatened, endangered and extinction species and share with the relevant partners in national and regional levels.The department is divided into Five sections.
